Cancer Reporting Requirements

Fines, Reimburse for Costs

The facility shall reimburse the Louisiana Tumor Registry or its contractor $45 per case or the actual cost of screening, abstracting, coding, and editing, whichever is greater. Facilities refusing to cooperate within one month of the LTR's request for cancer reporting may be fined. Fines accrue daily after this one month of Noncooperation at $100 per day, with a cap of $5000 total. Money from fines accrue to the LTR account, for LTR operations. The LTR may take legal action if necessary to enforce compliance with the law.
